first_imgAir Niugini Limited aims to raise K80 million this year under its higher altitude transformation program.Air Niugini managing director Alan Milne said this during a meeting with business houses in Lae yesterday.Mr Milne said 2018 was a tough year for Air Niugini and this has resulted in a substantial loss made by the airline company.However, he said the company has been restructured with focus on the higher altitude transformation program. This has produced overwhelming outcomes.“We were able to save K20 million in three months because of cost control, revenue enhancement, focusing on developing our people including operational and customer excellence,” Mr Milne said.He said some of the measures Air Niugini is taking to improve its business by rationalising of non-profit routes, expanding code share agreements with key partners and focusing on East West strategy and hub at Jacksons Airport.Mr Milne said Air Niugini services the national and international routes so they want to improve from being a good airline to a great airline and implementing strategies aimed in the higher altitude transformation program of improving customer service and time performance.“The business outlook for our airline company for 2019 is good as we experienced more staff engagement and a strict management of cash flow has resulted in the reduction in expense.
